Jens Who?

Hi! I’m Jens K Styve – an illustrator, comic artist, and author based in Tromsø, Northern Norway. I live between fjords and mountains with my dog Brego, who firmly believes he’s a wolf.

For nearly a decade, I’ve created the daily comic strip Dunce, published in newspapers and collected in books in several languages. It’s a small universe of chaos, dog wisdom, and everyday philosophy – with loyal readers who care deeply about the characters.

Lately, I’ve focused on illustrating children’s books and covers. I believe illustration should feel alive – drawn by hand, not by machines. While AI can mimic, it can’t replace the soul in a hand-drawn line. My style is analog, imperfect, and human – because children deserve images made with humanity and soul.

I also create illustrations for magazines, websites, and reports etc – often with a hint of narrative and personality.

Whether it’s comics, books, or commissioned illustrations, I aim to create images that speak to both the eye and the heart.

Let’s make something that communicates!
